Moola For Mona

Mona, an approximately 9 month old canine mix was brought into the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital by a good Samaritan on Tuesday, August 14th. The clinicians believe she was hit by a car before she was dropped off in the Good Samaritan's yard. Amongst the many lacerations on her body, her hind leg femur bone is broken. She's extremely sweet and has been an amazing sport despite the pain she must be in. Nobody stepped forward to claim her nor foster her during her 48 hour grace period, so she was set to go to a shelter, where she most likely would have been euthanized, due to the cost of caring for her leg and low adoption potential. In my opinion, a broken leg seemed too minuscule of a problem to let such a sweetie go, so I volunteered to foster her. My goal is to get her up and running-- figuratively & literally. A bone repair or possibly leg amputation surgery would be, simply put, well beyond my means as a grad student right now. However, with the support of fellow vet students, we have already raised $270 in 2 days, stocked food, treats, preventatives, potty training supplies & much more for dear Mona! I am confident that small donations from the many loving and caring family and friends I have will make this possible! Even $5 will go a long way, and we appreciate every penny. Please feel free to spread the fundraising information to more friends and family!
